The Federal Government has pledged to ensure justice for victims of the recent attacks on three communities of Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi by suspected armed Fulani Herdsmen. Vice President Yemi Osibanjo made the pledge on Sunday in Abakaliki while addressing stakeholders of the state after inspecting the affected communities. Osibanjo, who commiserated with the government and people of the state over the unfortunate incident, promised that the assailants will be arrested and duly prosecuted. “I convey the condolences from President Muhammadu Buhari as there is no justification whatsoever for the killings and destruction of property. “The killings must be condemned in its strongest terms as the victims must have lived together for long with those who may have killed them,” he said. Soldiers Storm Benue Community, Kill Over 30 Villagers, Set Ablaze Monarch Palace, 200 Houses | #Getinfo9ja.blog At least 50 unarmed civilians have been allegedly killed by military men in Shangev-Tiev, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State following reports that two soldiers were missing in the community, IgbereTV has learned. According to SaharaReporters, the soldiers went missing during a routine patrol in the community days after a communal crisis between towns in Konshisha and Oju LGAs. According to reports, three soldiers were initially missing but one of them was later found. There were reports that angry residents of Umuawom village, Ihodimeze community in Ikeduru council area of Imo State on Wednesday ambushed and set ablaze a fleeing prisoner, who returned home from the Owerri Correctional Centre which was attacked on Monday. Scooper News gathered that the fleeing prisoner, whose identity could not be ascertained as at press time, was said to have hailed from the nearby Ogwa community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State but grew up in Umuawom village, which is his maternal home.
